Parenting Place wanted to enhance their training offerings by incorporating more digital and online learning, starting with refreshing their Space Facilitator Training. Space is a 20-30 week programme for new parents, led by trained facilitators. With updated content in place, they needed to redesign their Facilitator Training to match this new content, plus create an online version for those living across the country.

Horrobin Learning was hired to redesign the training alongside their project team, ensuring best practice learning principles stood behind the design. Alongside this, an online option for remote facilitators was created with Clare upskilling lead trainers from Parenting Place in how to Create Engagement Online.

The outcome? A cutting-edge Facilitator Trainer Programme including a tailored facilitation model, offering both live and online training with increased learning transfer built into the new facilitator’s learning journey. Parenting Place has been able to recruit more facilitators due to reaching a broader audience through adding the online options. Post-trial results show a major boost in learning transfer, engagement, and knowledge retention. Their Lead Trainers also have increased their confidence and competence in engaging an online audience – and doing a phenomenal job of setting these new facilitators up to succeed.
