Each year at Beca, new Job Directors participate in an on-boarding programme to help them learn about their role across each delivery knowledge area, plus explore key leadership skills to help them attain success in their role. Over the last couple of years, this programme has shifted to online. In 2022, Clare Horrobin joined the Amplify Delivery team as a learning specialist.

Initially Clare reviewed and provided key recommendations to increase learning and collaboration in the online space, including overall framework and facilitation technique recommendations. From there, Clare joined the team to provide regular consultation on content redesign, facilitation upskill and communication strategies. Facilitator received extensive facilitation training from Clare on how to increase their engagement online and make their message land in an effective way. This included assistance with redesigning their content to create effective online learning activities to increase the learning.

The Amplify Job Director Programme was held over a 7-week period, consisting over two in-house networking sessions and six 2-hour online sessions. Job Directors were able to learn from the best of the best within Beca while interacting with their JD peers, extending theirs network across the business.  As a result, participants were engaged further, with the majority appropriately challenged and engaged. Facilitators grew further by developing their confidence to deliver online, including delivery educational activities to support the learning.
